Our council was founded in April of 1987 through the efforts of 33 men. The first Grand Knight was Mark Doiron. The Council works closely with the St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Madison, Mississippi providing funds for various projects, members being active participants in their parish. etc. Some additional projects the Council has participated in are the Mississippi Special Olympics, St. Richards Special Kids Program, St. Joe School fund raising, Cajun Feast, Habitat for Humanity, and many other events

Council 9543 meets each month on the second Monday of the month. We have our business meeting at 6:15 p.m. and then the general meeting at 7:00 p.m. Afterwards, we enjoy a wonderful dinner prepared by our brother knights.
